1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Barael LLC, a California limited liability company ("Barael," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use Reqall, available at reqall.app and related applications (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. If you do not agree to this Policy, do not use the Service.
We take privacy seriously. The short version: we collect only what we need to run the Service, we do not sell your data, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account information: email address and, optionally, your full name, when you register for an account.
- User Content: voice recordings, audio files, photographs, images, text notes, task data, project information, and any other content you submit to the Service.
- Communications: messages you send to us via email or support channels.
- Payment information: when paid plans are activated, billing details processed by our payment processor Stripe. We do not store payment card data directly.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, clicks, session duration, and interaction patterns within the Service.
- Device and technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and timezone.
- Log data: server logs including timestamps, request paths, and error information.
- Cookies and similar technologies: session tokens for authentication; we use minimal cookies necessary to operate the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Authentication providers: if you sign in via a third-party identity provider (e.g., Google OAuth), we receive your email address and name from that provider.
- AI processing results: transcripts, structured summaries, action items, and other outputs generated by our AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) from your User Content are stored as part of your account.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service: process your voice recordings, photos, and other inputs; generate AI-powered transcripts and structured artifacts; manage your tasks, projects, notes, and canvases.
- Authenticate and secure your account: verify your identity, prevent unauthorized access, and protect against fraud and abuse.
- Communicate with you: send account-related notices, respond to support inquiries, and, where you have opted in, send product updates.
- Operate and improve the Service: monitor performance, diagnose errors, analyze usage patterns (in aggregate and de-identified form), and develop new features.
- Legal compliance: comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful legal requests, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Process payments: when paid plans are activated, manage subscriptions and billing through Stripe.
4. How We Do Not Use Your Information
- We do not sell your personal data to any third party, ever.
- We do not use your User Content to train AI models. Your recordings, transcripts, photos, notes, and task data are not used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine learning model.
- We do not serve targeted advertising based on your personal data or content.
- We do not share your data with data brokers or advertising networks.
5. How We Share Your Information
5.1 Service Providers (Subprocessors)
- Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage infrastructure.
- OpenAI: audio transcription via Whisper API.
- Anthropic: AI extraction, whiteboard parsing, chat assistant, and artifact generation.
- Vercel: application hosting and edge delivery infrastructure.
- Stripe: payment processing when paid plans are activated.
5.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
5.3 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred to the successor entity. We will notify you at least 30 days before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data and User Content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days. Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest for stored content, row-level security in our database, and access controls limiting data access on a need-to-know basis.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing eddie@barael.com. You may also update your account information directly in Settings.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact eddie@barael.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line.
10. International Users
Reqall is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. For EEA/UK/Switzerland users, we process data on the legal bases of contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligation, and consent.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us at eddie@barael.com if you believe a child has provided us with their information.
12. Changes to This Policy
When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
